This depends on which class you are taking as they vary from subject to subject and course to course.
The AP Program offers 37 courses in a wide variety of subject areas. (Contact your high school for the courses that they offer)
NOTE: Students do not have to take an AP course before taking an AP Exam
All AP Exams include a multiple-choice and free-response section, with the following (3 types) exceptions:
Seminar (written exam)
Research (academic paper and presentation and oral defense)
All three Studio Art exams (portfolio assessment)
AP Exams in world languages and cultures include a speaking section with recorded student responses.
Exams are split up into two weeks with exams times either at 8 am or 12 noon.
The AP Exam fee is $92 per exam. The fee for the exams administered outside the United States varies. The College Board provides a $30 fee reduction for qualifying low-income students. Most states use federal and/or state funds to contribute to the remaining exam fee for low-income students.
