SAT

What is the SAT?  

 

Created by the College Board, the SAT is an entrance exam accepted by all colleges and universities. 

 

The Content of the SAT

 

As of March 2016, there are two SAT sections: Math, Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, plus an optional Essay.

 

Reading
  • 52 multiple–choice questions
  • 65 minutes
  • Passages or pairs of passages (literature, historical documents, social sciences, and natural sciences)
Math
  • 58 multiple–choice questions and 1 set of “extended-thinking” grid-in questions )
  • 80 minutes
  • Algebra I and II, geometry, and some trigonometry
Writing & Language
  • 44 multiple–choice questions
  • 35 minutes
  • Grammar, vocabulary in context, and editing skills
Essay (Optional*)
  • 1 essay
  • 50 minutes
  • Read a passage and explain how the author builds a persuasive argument 

Registration Fee is $54.50 ($43 without Essay)
